Welder

Perform welding on assigned projects by staging and setting up materials and equipment. Responsible for fitting and welding of various types of metal using a MIG process. This position requires prior knowledge of basic welding techniques and a proficient ability to weld. Strict adherence and awareness of proper safety techniques is essential. Accurate measurements, and the ability to read and use a tape measure is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Welding of metals in varying thickness. Read and interpret blueprints. Inspect welds for accuracy. Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/aluminum parts. Change wire, welding, as needed. Change gas tanks, as needed. Tracking of hours and tasks performed based on necessity of project. Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and working areas in clean, neat, and orderly condition; use prescribed safety equipment and follow safety rules.

High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Previous welding experience (2 years) OR the completion of a certified welding training program. Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs. Attention to detail. Ability to weld metal at varying degrees of width (16ga to 1-1/2" thick)
