Job Description & Responsibilities:

Job Summary: The Teacher Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the verification process for credentials and credible years of experience for Pre-K teachers. The position reviews and approves teacher waivers. The Teacher Credentialing Specialist will report to the Teacher and Student Data Reporting Manager. Job Responsibilities: The Teacher Credentialing Specialist will: • Manage the teacher credential verification process for Pre-K lead and assistant teachers. This includes: o Monitoring credentials reported in the Teacher Data Manager for discrepancies. o Working with Pre-K grantees to resolve discrepancies in credential reporting. o Developing resources for grantees regarding teacher credentials. • Manage the Creditable Years of Experience (CYE) verification process for Pre-K lead teachers. This includes: o Collaborating with the GA Department of Education to verify years of experience with GA local educational agencies. o Monitoring CYE reported in the Teacher Data Manager for discrepancies. o Developing resources for grantees regarding CYE. o Working with Pre-K grantees to resolve discrepancies in CYE reporting. • Serve as the subject matter expert for teacher credential and CYE related questions, issues, and concerns. This includes: o Participating in cross-divisional meetings related to teacher credentials. o Responds to credential and CYE related Help Ticket responses are timely and accurate.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience communicating information in a customer service setting; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Customer Svc Rep 2 (GST121). DECAL Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Georgia’s Pre-K Program including the Pre-K Providers’ Operating Guidelines, teacher credentials, and roster reporting • Experience working with data systems and acting as a liaison between business users and technical staff • Experience coordinating multiple complex projects simultaneously • Experience looking at data to inform decision making • Knowledge of or experience with Pre-K Application and Database Access or a data manager system

Salary: $35,618.70 – 46,245.72
