Job Description & Responsibilities:
Summary of Primary Functions: Dobbs Equipment is seeking an experienced Service Technician Welder. This position will be responsible for designs, repairing equipment, fixtures, and fabrications. This job description does not include a complete listing of all the duties and functions of the position. Management reserves the right to assign other duties or projects as necessary. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned) Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments while maintaining a safe work environment and safe work habits. Perform any inspections as required. Check and report any shortages and malfunctions to the Service Manager. Maintain records and account for all time, parts, and supplies used in repairing and servicing both customer and dealership equipment. Handle customer problems both objectively and tactfully. Responsible for welding to include line boring services (where applicable) Designs, fabricates, joins, and/or repairs equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures utilizing oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG and TIG welding techniques Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding projects Estimates material and labor Recommends supplies and materials to be ordered Perform all service tasks as assigned by the Service Manager, Supervisor, or Shop Foreman. Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.
Qualifications
Qualification: The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record. Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance and operation. Prior welding experience Skilled in the fabrication, joining and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures, and structures Must have align boring experience Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures Ability to operate heavy equipment safely around shop.
