Job Description & Responsibilities:
Ability to make decisions without close supervision, and must be accurate, efficient and capable of handling detailed work assignments at all school locations. Protect confidentiality of student information. Obtain current and up to date health cards on each student to include emergency address and phone numbers. Initiate referral to parents and school personnel. Notify appropriate personnel of all medical problems a student may have. Report contagious diseases to the principal. Maintain adequately stocked health center. Serve students by monitoring and dispensing medication per a physician's order and parental permission. Identify students with potential health problems. Provide first responder duties for sudden illness and or injuries. Organize the clinic and manage responsibilities. Coordinates school and community health activities and serves as a liaison health professional between the home/community and school. Assumes authority, in the absence or a physician or emergency medical personnel, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or emergency illness. Channel all official business through the Principal of the school to the Superintendent and other school officials. Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics.. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated consistent with Calhoun County School System evaluation policy.
Qualifications
Minimum - Associates Degree from an accredited college or university. Current Georgia RN or LPN license, Certification in First Aid and CPR.
