Job Description & Responsibilities:

Position Summary: Under the leadership of the Manager, Clinical Laboratory, the Phlebotomist – Certified is an active member of the department that provides pathology and laboratory studies and analysis for the medical and nursing staff. The Phlebotomist – Certified is responsible for the collection of blood samples from patients by venipuncture or micro techniques. The Phlebotomist facilitates the collection and transportation of laboratory specimens.

Qualifications

asic Qualifications: Education: Requires a high school diploma or a GED state certification and the completion of a Phlebotomy program. Experience: Requires up to one year of work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Licensure, Registrations & Certifications: Requires and maintains a Phlebotomy certification from the ASCP, AMT, NCS., AAB or other approved agencies by the department. Requires current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS). (If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)
