Job Description & Responsibilities:

Reports to the Human Resources Manager and is an hourly, non-exempt position. Coordinates the staff training needs necessary to fulfill new hire orientation and PRH training requirements. Assists HR Manager in administration of HR programs. Performs staff recruitment duties. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of: workplace relations and ethics; information management; communications; multicultural awareness; personal growth and development; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills and independent living. Demonstrates and abides by ODLE Core Values and operating principles. Participates in recruitment, screening and hiring program for all center staff; completes applicant for hire/promotion approval paperwork and sends to Corporate HR for approval. Coordinates and implements New Employee Orientation (NEO) program and ensures attendance by all new staff within the required PRH guidelines. Recommends and implements staff development and training program; ensures Train Tracks is up to date. Provides staff training to center personnel as it relates to Human Resources Ensures compliance with all contractual requirements relative to the human resources function. Implements Corporate/Center Human Resource Directives. Monitors all personnel and employment practices to ensure compliance with practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws (FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, etc.) Assists in preparation of all reports required by contract. Oversees/monitors candidate background checks and other compliancy documentation in hiring process. Prepares and makes job offers to applicants. Oversees/monitors employment benefits. Coordinates monthly, quarterly and/or annual staff training sessions. Prepares and monitors training reports. Acts in full capacity of Human Resources Manager in their absence. Attends required staff training sessions. Administers recruitment, screening and hiring program for all center staff. Ensures compliance with all contractual requirements relative to the human resources function. Cultivate and maintain a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn. Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills including personal responsibility and computer fluency. Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adhere to safety practices in all areas of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Two (2) years related experience. Four years Human Resources related work preferred. Ability to complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred. Additional Requirements: Knowledge of wage and salary administration, EEO and AAP, recruiting techniques, sound management techniques and staff training and development. Ability to relate to trainee population. Knowledge of local area employers and labor market trends. Good analytical skills. Ability to operate a personal computer and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, etc. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
