Job Description & Responsibilities:

What You Will Be Doing: As a Parts Specialist, you will deliver a superior customer experience by providing parts consultation and sales to our customers, including over the counter and shop customers. Primary Responsibilities: Courteously and quickly greet all walk-in and call-in customers. Assist customers in a consultative manner to provide the best parts solution for their needs. Gain proficiency in parts knowledge and continue growing as new products are introduced. Employ superior listening skills and assess customers’ needs. Advise customers of additional related parts. Inform customers of specials and merchandising programs. Follow up quickly with customers on back ordered items and communicate any changes in delivery dates or availability. Create purchases orders prior to placing orders with vendors for all non-Cat back orders. Initiate outbound sales calls to customers as directed by parts supervision. Handle and process cash, check, and credit card transactions in compliance with company policy and procedures, including assuring that checks contain all required information and are approved through UTA. Be available to work overtime on short notice and provide after hours support when required. Successfully complete all required training. Review will-call area weekly, contacting customers on items not picked up and returning items to inventory, as needed.

Qualifications

Who We Are Looking For: To be successful in this position you should have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, knowledge of tools applicable to the position and the desire to learn. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well. Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Required Qualifications/Skills: Excellent communication skills both over the phone and in person Ability to quickly pick up on different software and websites used in searching and ordering parts Work with a sense of urgency and organization Be able to act as a consultant on parts and service, rather than an order taker Ability to become forklift certified Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally higher amounts with assistant devices Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Prior Parts Counter experience in a similar industry
