Job Description & Responsibilities:
This position includes the responsibility of providing technical support to the campus network. This position provides support for the campus resident network and the campus wireless network. This position is responsible for assisting the Network Coordinator with configuration, problem-resolution, documentation, and management of the physical, logical and logistical components of the campus network. This position provides support for provider network services for applications such as e-mail, on-line classes/distance education, registration, administrative database access, web access, etc. Responsibilities: Manages assigned networks. (55%) Assists Network Support Services Director in managing residence hall networks. Assists the Network Support Services Director in the management of the corporate network. Plans and performs network upgrades on residential and corporate networks. Activates network jacks. Serves on the Cybersecurity Group Assists in the planning and implementation of PCI compliance on point-of-sale networks. Provides support to end users. (20%) Assists users in connecting to the internet. Resolves a variety of end-user problems and issues. Manages NAC (Network Access Control). (15%) Performs a variety of related duties as assigned. (10%) Performs vulnerability scans of various equipment and websites. Performs the duties of the Network Support Services Director in his or her absence.
Qualifications
Associates degree in a related field or equivalent networking experience required. Knowledge of network and computer hardware, software and operating systems and the ability to maintain and repair (in depth, beyond the scope of plug-and play) a variety of network hardware, network operating systems, software, and servers is preferred.
