Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Certified Medical Assistant is a non-exempt position responsible for providing clinical support to Nephrologists and patients while handling multiple clinical and administrative tasks, including: rooming patients, collecting patient health information, gathering outside patient records, answering a high volume of incoming phone calls and messages, completing physician orders and obtaining Prior Authorizations. The successful Medical Assistant assures that questions and issues are resolved both promptly and accurately, in a manner that callers can understand, while thoroughly assessing and efficiently gathering information, in a professional and courteous manner. Duties may include, but are not limited to, patient check-in and check-out, clinical and administrative tasks, chart preparation, patient phone calls and updating electronic medical records.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma, or equivalent Medical Assistant Certification (required) Current CPR Certification 2+ years of clinical experience Knowledge of Electronic Health Records Knowledge of health insurance plans Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively Patient focused and adaptable to different personality types
