Job Description & Responsibilities:
This position will be housed in Sumter County Health Department and travel to satellite offices will be expected. You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities: perform administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and copying/faxing/mailing documents assist with clinical duties such as taking & recording vital signs, drawing blood, collecting specimen & preparing them for transport, preparing patients for exam assisting the physician and/or nurse practitioner when needed.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Medical Assistant 1 Vocational/Technical degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited college OR High School diploma or GED AND one year of related experience. Medical Assistant 2 Vocational/Technical degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited college AND one (1) year of related experience OR High School diploma or GED AND two (2) years of related experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Public Health experience; experience in Phlebotomy; experience with infectious diseases.
Salary:
$31,470.18 - $34,067.20 Annually
