Materials Handler I

This is an entry level position assigned to support all routine aspects of material inventory, handling, warehousing and accountability. Responsible for safe, efficient, and organized processing (inspecting, counting, movement) of military equipment with a focus on the adherence to applicable government practices and local procedures. This position works with contracted staff and resolves problems in a team environment. Responsibilities Performs routine unloading, sorting, counting and packing of materials in storage. Movement of materials within and between warehouse locations. Kits job orders and delivers to alternate locations as directed. Performs routine inventory cycle counts and inventory counts. Prepares products for movement and performs routine quality checks of products. Identifies inventory anomalies for resolution. Executes material processing and proper documentation. Performs daily visual inspection of trucks and equipment and performs minor repairs on equipment only.

One year of related experience. Good oral and written communication skills. Basic computer skills including MS Windows and Office. Operating knowledge of pallet movers and various sized trucks as well as certification and licensing for forklift operation (or ability to obtain within reasonable time on the job). Attention to detail. Ability to work overtime with 24 hours’ notice. US Citizenship. May require ability to continuously bend, lift, and transport up to 100 pounds during the work shift. May require ability to stand and walk up to 80% of the work shift Preferred Qualifications Prefer experience working in an ISO-9000 and/or a military logistics or defense contractor environment.
