Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Field Service Technician performs onsite site surveys, installation, service, and training of proprietary automated fueling equipment and associated accounting software for commercial accounts, as well as Department of Defense and Homeland Security contracts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Establishes and maintains positive and satisfactory communication with customers until completion of the task. Provides hands-on training on proprietary software and hardware in a one-on-one or classroom-style environment. Works onsite at various client locations to perform site surveys, diagnose equipment problems, install new equipment, and conduct service maintenance and repairs. Utilizes appropriate equipment to perform tests such as multimeters, communication software, and others, as required. Utilizes light-duty equipment for repairs of minor electrical connections, surface mount conduit, cabling, and hardware installations. Provides complete documentation to cover any system configuration changes, acceptance test procedures, and site visit service call reports. Provides ongoing feedback pertaining to equipment and work procedures to appropriate Syntech management personnel. Maintains company vehicle and tools in good working order. Provides essential support to other departments within the organization as per direct supervisor request. Maintains, improves, and broadens knowledge, skills, and expertise through in-house and on-the-job training.

Qualifications

AA degree or technical training in an IT-related field; will consider relevant years of experience or equivalent military training in lieu of degree. CompTIA Security+ Certification, a plus. Experience with mechanics, electrical/electronics, computer networking, computer hardware, and software, required. Wireless hardware and configuration management, preferred. Proficiency with MS Office and Microsoft operating systems. Experience with SQL servers, a plus. MSHA certification, a plus. Possess a current TWIC card, a plus. Willingness to travel extensively (up to 80%) and for extended periods (generally 3-4 weeks at a time). Willingness to travel either domestically or overseas. Willingness and ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work with persons of diverse backgrounds as a team player and self-starter. Exceptional organizational skills and precise attention to detail. Possess a valid Driver’s License with no major violations and an excellent driving record. Required to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and proof of satisfactory credit history in order to obtain clearance for various government ID cards Possess a major credit card for business expenses. Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid US passport. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to drive long distances to job sites. Ability to talk, hear, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and work in a repetitive-paced motion. Able to work with intricate hand assembly. Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; occasionally required to lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and depth perception. Ability to work in high noise assembly areas, and must also be able to freely access all areas of job sites in all types of inclement weather conditions
