Job Description & Responsibilities:
The Intern Engineers at Pursuit are provided opportunities to work in several different areas of the business including operations, quality, and engineering. The Intern Engineer is assigned work that adds value to the operation while providing the Intern with exposure to the various facets of our manufacturing-based company. Responsibilities include individual contributions in daily tasks associated with the shop floor operation, quality assurance, and process engineering. At the core of Pursuit’s culture is continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing. The Intern Engineer will be an active member on project teams chartered to improve processes and will also be assigned individual projects that impact the business. Common tasks can include CNC and CMM programming, value stream mapping, genba walks, quality inspection, tool and fixture design/modification, safety projects, quality inspection, quality compliance, auditing activities, reporting activities, preventative maintenance, robotics/automation, and new product introduction activities.
Qualifications
The Intern Engineer will gain valuable exposure to Kaizen, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, new product introduction, visual factory, continuous improvement culture, and project management. The networking and mentoring Interns receive while working with experienced professionals providing an excellent environment for academic and career growth. The student must be a self starter and willing to work in any of our disciplines.
