Job Description & Responsibilities:

Closes On: February 2, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST This position is responsible for providing clerical and customer service support to the Office of the Clerk of Court. MAJOR DUTIES Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; refers to appropriate personnel. Provides customers with certified copies. Files a variety of legal documents; assigns case numbers, prints docket sheets, etc. Prints docket sheets. Provides information regarding pending and completed files. Pulls court files for use in court. Scans a variety of court documents. Prepares new case files. Attends court to provide support and assistance. Enters sentences and submits to Judge for review and signature. Processes incoming mail; sorts and transfers to appropriate departments. Maintains court records. Mails arraignment and failure to comply notices. Performs other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION Knowledge of the state laws and guidelines governing court procedures. Knowledge of legal terminology and required record-keeping procedures. Knowledge of computers and job related software programs. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Skill in operating such standard office machines as a computer, calculator, copier, facsimile machine, and typewriter. Skill in filing. Skill in dealing with the public. Skill in oral and written communication.

Qualifications

Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.

Salary:

$25,001 - $35,000
