Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Dougherty County School System is seeking a marketing teacher to join our roster of experienced, motivated, and effective teaching professionals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of marketing principles, industry trends, and a passion for imparting knowledge to students. The Marketing Teacher will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of marketing professionals by delivering engaging and relevant coursework, fostering a positive learning environment, and staying abreast of evolving marketing strategies. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance; Be present, organized, and enthusiastically committed to the success of all assigned students; Designs, develops, and updates curriculum for marketing courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and emerging trends; Creates instructional materials, including lesson plans, presentations, and assignments, to facilitate effective learning; Fosters critical thinking and practical application of marketing concepts through real-world examples and case studies; Develops and administer assessments to evaluate students' understanding and application of marketing principles; Stays current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and marketing strategies to bring real-world relevance to the classroom; Fosters partnerships with industry professionals and organizations for guest lectures, workshops, and potential internship opportunities; Maintains the degree of discipline and order in the classroom necessary to effectively instruct students; Counsels with students and parents on learning and discipline problems as necessary; Evaluates and records student progress; prepares reports for parents and/or guardians; Engages in ongoing professional development activities to stay updated on advancements in marketing education and pedagogy; Attends and/or participates in all required staff meetings; performs other student-focused responsibilities assigned by the building Principal and/or District; supports activities deemed necessary by the District and/or building Principal in order to accomplish the objectives of the position for professional development to further student achievement; Performs other tasks as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.

Qualifications

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field and or PSC-determined equivalent; Proven experience in marketing, preferably with hands-on industry experience; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills; Ability to relate to and motivate all students in a positive manner with respect; Ability to effectively navigate and utilize a wide range of educational and career-related technology tools, software applications, and digital platforms while engaging students; Ability to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
