Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Dougherty County Magistrate Court has a vacancy for an Accounting Technician. Employee in this position is responsible for, but not limited to: answering phones and greeting the public; performing general clerical duties; completing office correspondences; managing files; preparing invoices for payment; generating and preparing checks for mailing; maintaining and generating budget records and reports as required by auditors, other County departments and external agencies; receipting and reconciling financial statements, deposits, funds and records; verifying and balancing funds daily; assisting with budget preparation.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or specialized training that is equivalent to two (2) years of college education in Accounting or closely related field with one (1) year of administrative support, bookkeeping or accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Exceptional oral and written communication skills required. A TEST TO DEMONSTRATE BASIC ACCOUNTING KNOWLEDGE AND EXCEL SKILLS WILL BE GIVEN.
