April 29, 2014- Albany, GA from WALB- There's a new grant available for students attending technical colleges.

The Zell Miller Grant will pay a student's full tuition at a technical college, like Albany Tech, if they have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Dr. Anthony Parker, President of Albany Technical College, says this is a great incentive for students to put extra time into their studies.

"We want to be a growth state, a state's that's worker friendly, business friendly, all of those things and of course to have that your going to need a technically labored work force," says Dr. Anthony Parker, President of Albany Technical College.

There's also enhanced financial aid for students enrolled in programs that have been identified with critical work shortages, like welding, truck driving and child development.
