July 17, 2014- Albany, GA from WALB- Some Georgia technical colleges are bracing for a boost in enrollment because of a boost in HOPE scholarship money.

The Georgia Lottery Corporation just transferred a record amount $940 million to the state's Education Account. Those grants are helping Southwest Georgia Students.

"Now students are coming back in school and taking advantage of it," said Albany Technical College financial aid advisor Kenneth Williams. "Starting the fall, HOPE pays for us $65 a credit hour."

The new Zell Miller HOPE grant also starts fall semester at technical colleges. It provides full tuition for eligible students who maintain a 3.5 G-P-A.
