Public Notice: Emergency response exercise scheduled at Albany Technical College

Posted on

November 16, 2015 - Albany, GA - A full-scale emergency response exercise will take place on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Albany Technical College's Campus on South Slappey Boulevard in Albany.

The drill, or exercise, will include the participation of various emergency response agencies. While this drill is not being conducted in response to any actual threat or situation, recent events at colleges and universities across the United States have emphasized the importance of exhaustive training for not only emergency response agencies but also faculty and staff members at all schools.

The exercise will take place at various locations throughout the Albany Tech Campus. No roads or highways near the campus are expected to be closed, and any impact to the community should be minimal.

Residents should be aware that real life sights and sounds may be seen and heard along the periphery of the campus and through a variety of emergency response vehicles in the area.

This exercise will not interrupt public safety services. Residents in the area should continue reporting real world emergencies by dialing 9-1-1.
