April 23, 2009 (WALB) - Hundreds of people turned out at a job fair Thursday at Albany Technical College. Both students and members of the community looking for work or for a better fit were there.
People lined up outside before the doors opened Thursday morning.
Patrick O'Flynn is a student at Albany Tech. He's got a job, but is looking for something different. His advice to other job seekers: Don't take no for an answer, and don't expect a job to come to you.
He said, "You've got to be assertive. That's one of the main things, to be assertive and you don't wait for a job to come to you, sitting at home, saying I'm unemployed. You go out and look for a job."
More than 40 employers attended Thursday's job fair.
