Former President of Albany Technical College Passes Away

Alvin Anderson, Sr., past president of Albany Technical Institute (now Albany Technical College) passed away on March 30th. Anderson served at Albany Tech as President and before that, as Director of General Educational Development (GED®) Programs and Evaluation Assessment, from 1992 to 1994. He was the fourth president of Albany Tech since the college started in 1961. Services will be held on Monday, April 6th, at 11am at Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Atlanta, Georgia. Anderson is survived by his wife, Martha Williams Anderson; sons, Alvin F. Anderson, Jr., Christian G. Anderson, and Leland J. Anderson; sister, Verdelle Anderson Miller; brother, Louis Anderson; a special niece, Debra Miller; other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.

Albany Tech current President Dr. Anthony O. Parker, faculty and staff, offer condolences to the Anderson family.
