ATC students raise money for Relay for Life

April 5, 2012 - ALBANY, GA from WALB - Some Albany Tech culinary students step out of the classroom kitchen to help charity.

The aspiring chefs turned their recipes into money for Relay for Life.

They put their red velvet cake, parfaits, cupcakes, and many more sweet treats on sales Thursday morning.

All of the money raised was donated to help raise money for cancer. A representative for Relay for Life says it is great to see students helping.

"It's extremely important as far as Albany Tech to make sure that we are involved in community activities," said Relay for Life's Valerie Williams. "And in doing that, it's our way of giving back."

Relay for Life is put on by the American Cancer Society. Their survivor walk and ceremony is on April 20th at Darton College.
