ATC Holds Fifth Annual Titans Athletic Banquet Friday

May 3, 2012 - Albany Technical College will hold its annual Athletics Banquet for the Titans basketball players and cheerleaders from season 2011-2012 on Friday, May 4, 2012, at 6pm, in the Kirkland Conference Center on campus.

Several players on the men and women’s teams for the Titans will receive awards and be recognized for their athletic achievements throughout the season.

Speaker for the evening event will be Clint Bryant, Director of Athletics at Augusta State University. Now in his 23rd year as Director of Athletics at Augusta State, Bryant was named the Division II Athletics Director of the Year for the Southwest Region in the summer of 2007 by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). He is also in his 13th year as administrative associate to the president. He oversees an 11-sport athletics program that has consistently battled for conference and regional honors Under his leadership, the Jaguar and Lady Jaguar programs have enjoyed prosperity on and off the playing fields and courts.

Highly visible and respected on the local, regional and national levels, Bryant brings an infectious enthusiasm to the university. His work with the NCAA and USA Basketball has brought national attention to the Augusta State athletic program. Over the past four seasons, Augusta State has enjoyed unprecedented success. The Jaguars undoubtedly produced four of the best seasons in school history in 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 and 2009-10, when 23 teams qualified for NCAA Regional competition, with 19 earning national rankings in their respective sports.

A member of various committees at the NCAA legislative level, Bryant was recently appointed (for the second time) to the NCAA’s Division II Management Council, a four-year post he assumed at the conclusion of the 2010 NCAA Convention in January.

Bryant earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Belmont Abbey College and his master’s in personnel services from Clemson University. At Belmont, he received the Marty Thomas Scholar-Athlete Award, given annually to a student-athlete who demonstrated both academic and athletic excellence.
