May 3, 2010 – This morning at 10 a.m. in front of the Terrell County Government Building, Albany Tech’s recruitment team unveiled its newest tool in attracting potential students – a state-ofthe-art mobile recruitment lab, officially known as the “Career Cruiser” to the officials of Terrell County. This marked the fourth of eight “Rolling Ribbon Cuttings” that will take lace in the coming weeks and months.
ATC Board Member representative for Terrell County, Steve Highsmith, was present, along with Chairman Wilbur T. Gamble, Jr. and Gina Webb, Executive Director of the Terrell County Chamber of Commerce. The invocation was delivered by Rev. Wyman Richardson of First Baptist Church of Dawson.
The Career Cruiser, which spans more than 30 feet in length, is designed for doorstep delivery of Albany Tech academic program information. Ten laptop computer workstations allow the recruitment team to provide admissions and testing services on-site to high schools and businesses in the Albany Tech service delivery area. Visitors can also take in a virtual campus tour on lab’s high-tech display screen.
Over the course of the coming weeks and months, other “Rolling Ribbon Cutting” ceremonies will take place in the additional counties that fall within the College’s service delivery area – Baker, Calhoun, Clay, and Randolph counties.
