March 29, 2012 - A current Albany Technical College staff member, Valerie Williams, was recently promoted as the new Director of Continuing Education in the Economic Development division.

A graduate of Texas Southern University where she received her bachelor’s degree in business administration, Williams moved to Albany from Seattle, Washington in the fall of 2010 with her husband, Erich, and her stepsons, Nicholas and Donovan.

Williams has worked in the corporate sector for over 15 years, with 10 years in the Logistics industry. Her vast experience within the industry as Operations and Territory Manager includes corporate training, both domestically and internationally for Exel and PECO. In addition, her management experience includes HR management, ADP payroll management, accounts payable/receivable, along with WMS and ACT software applications. She serves on the advisory board for the Lee County Minority Mentoring Program and is an active member of the Albany Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

“My primary focus as Director of Continuing Education will be to ensure that Albany Technical College is providing the courses needed by both the employed and unemployed to assist them in enhancing their current skill sets or adding additional skills to their work portfolio to maintain or obtain an exciting career through ATC’s Continuing Education program,” said Williams.

In addition to her new role, Williams is also tasked with overseeing event planning for Albany Tech’s state-ofthe- art Logistics Education Center Auditorium, Executive Board Room, and Kirkland Conference Center.
