Albany Technical College Special Needs Holds Substance Abuse Workshop Wednesday

June 23, 2015- Albany, GA- The Special Needs Program at Albany Technical College will hold a workshop entitled "College Success vs. Substance Abuse," on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in the Logistics Education Center Auditorium.

The purpose of the workshop is to understand the effects of drug use on the brain and the difference between proper use and misuse of prescription drugs. Attendees will also learn about the different types of commonly abused legal and illegal drugs and be able to identify the signs and symptoms associated with drug use, as well as identify an accessible support group.

The workshop will be presented by Jacqueline Jenkins, CAC II, CAMS, MS. Light refreshments will be provided.
