Albany Technical College Possible Property Acquistion

June 21, 2012- ALBANY, GA- For some time, Albany Technical College has been in search for additional property around its main campus to acquire for future expansion. In April of this year, the college inquired about a property located between the Health Department and Regions Bank at the intersection of Slappey Blvd. and Newton Road. Recently, the owner asked Albany Tech for a $5,000 deposit of earnest money in order to hold the property. The Albany Tech Foundation provided the funds for the deposit. The owner is allowing 60 days to make a decision.

If acquired, Albany Tech could utilize the property to expand the campus and provide services to the growing student population. Some of the potential projects include, but are not limited to, a gymnasium, student housing, Student Services/Admissions building, and many other needed facilities for the college. Albany Tech is excited about the possibility to expand the campus and become an even greater source for technical education for students in the Southwest Georgia region.
