Albany Technical College Launches New Business Healthcare Technology Degree Program for Fall Semester

ALBANY, GA – Albany Technical College (ATC) will launch a brand new Business Healthcare Technology associate degree program starting this fall semester. The program is designed for new and current medical administrative assistant diploma students to transition into an area that will greatly enhance their career opportunities.

The new program also provides a career pathway for students who would eventually like to earn a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration. While in the program, students will be introduced to accounting fundamentals, electronic communications, internet research, electronic file management, and healthcare regulation and compliance. The program also includes instruction in effective communication skills and terminology that encompasses office management and executive assistant qualification and technology office innovations.

“Employment opportunities in this field will continue to be best for those office and administrative support workers, supervisors, and managers who show leadership and team building skills and who exhibit critical thinking skills, able to multitask, communicate well, and stay abreast of technological advances,” said Emma Johnson, Chair of the Business Technology program at Albany Tech.
