ALBANY, GA – Albany Technical College held a Work Ethics Special Recognition Program on Wednesday, April 2, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Kirkland Conference Center. This is the third year that the college has held this ceremony in honor of these students. Each semester of the academic year, students who exemplify one of the ten work ethics traits are recognized in this special observance.
As part of the technical education criteria, Albany Tech students are required to excel in Work Ethics as a portion of the grade they receive for each academic course. Those work ethics include appearance, attendance, attitude, character, communication, cooperation, organizational skills, productivity, respect and teamwork. Almost 50 students were recognized at the ceremony.
Keynote speaker for the ceremony was Kerrie Davis, Transportation Planner for DARTS MPO, and she works with the City of Albany, City of Leesburg, Dougherty County and Lee County to plan for infrastructure investments for future development. Davis was previously Regional Planner with Southwest Georgia Regional Commission where she worked with communities on the development of comprehensive plans, housing assessments, grant writing and facilitation.
