Albany Technical College Healthcare Technology to Hold Summer Capping & Pinning Wednesday

ALBANY, GA – Albany Technical College’s Healthcare Technology division will hold the summer 2017 Capping and Pinning ceremony on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, beginning at 12Noon, in the Kirkland Conference Center.

Almost 45 students will be capped and pinned in the following programs: Practical Nursing, Dental Assisting, and Medical Assisting. The Associate of Science (ASN) in Nursing (RN) program will hold a separate pinning ceremony at a later date.

Keynote speaker will be Tamar Brown, Human Resources Director for Consulate Health Care. A native of Mitchell County, Brown is a graduate of Mitchell-Baker High School and from Southern Regional Technical College with a degree in Business Technology. She also attended American Intercontinental University Online with a major in Business.

Brown’s love for people and compassion for geriatric care and to see others healthy and whole, she began her career as a CAN and went on to become a Dental Assistant. She has many years of extensive experience in Human Resources Management, Home Health Management, ALF/Retirement Community Management and Billing of various government and private insurances. She is very active in her church as a minister at the Deliverance Jesus Is Coming Church, Inc. in Boston, Georgia.

A private reception in the Logistics Education Center will be held for students immediately following the ceremony.
