Albany Technical College Fire Science Program Receives Re-­Accreditation from the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council

July 9, 2010 - Albany Technical College’s Fire Science Technology program has received re-accreditation from the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council.

Originally certified in 2006, Albany Tech received re-accreditation for an additional three years by the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications Committee on Accreditation for the following standards and levels: 1021 Fire Officer I and II, 2003 edition; 1031 Inspector I, 2003 edition; and 1041 Fire Instructor I, 2007 edition.

“We are excited to receive this honor for another three years,” said Don Laye, Fire Science instructor and chairperson for the Fire Science Technology program. “This will ensure our graduates receive the qualifications they need to be successful in their careers.”
