Albany Technical College Announces 2010 Employee of the Year

Technical College announced its 2010 Employee of the Year today at the end of the fiscal year luncheon held on campus. Florence Searles, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness, was named the 2010 recipient.

 

Searles has been employed by Albany Tech for over 10 years. She supports the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness in all department operations, enters all new program applications for Albany Tech’s submissions to the Technical College System of Georgia, its governing body, and has helped the College successfully complete two Performance Accountability Review (PAR) visits, a Council on Education (COE) site visit, a Georgia Oglethorpe Award Process site visit, as well as supported the College through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) visits for application, candidacy, initial accreditation and reaffirmation.

 

“Florence is a dedicated and conscientious employee that has Albany Tech’s mission at heart as she supports the faculty and staff in completing the work required to remain accredited, and in compliance with the various agencies we are accountable to,” said Vicki Tucker, Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness.

 

A member of the National Technical Honors Society (NTHS), Searles received her associate degrees in Accounting and Business Administrative Technology from Albany Technical College, as well as a diploma in Medical Office Assisting from Albany Tech. She is currently working on her bachelor’s degree from Troy University.
