Albany Tech Students Win SkillsUSA State Competition Awards

March 28, 2017 - Albany, GA - Albany Technical College students attended the SkillsUSA State Conference at Atlanta Technical College on March 23rd through 25th, bringing back several awards.

Students from Welding Technology, Dental Assisting, Nursing, Masonry and Cosmetology all represented Albany Tech. Two students won Gold Awards: Dennis Benton (Welding Sculpture) and Cemon Ross (Dental Assisting); Three students won Silver Awards: Amanda Duncan (Dental Assisting), Kristen Williams (First Aid/CPR), and Khalif Colier (Masonry); and two students won Bronze Awards: Aujanela Alexander (Nail Care), Melissa Jarrett, Jeanette Bradley, Amber Nelson, and Azsaaunna Bryant (Health Knowledge Bowl).

Gold Award winners Dennis Benton and Cemon Ross will move on to compete at the SkillsUSA National Competition in Louisville, Kentucky in June.
