February 11, 2015- Albany Tech's Students Achieving Success in Engineering Technology (SASET) program will hold a special presentation of four high school students who are dually enrolled on Thursday, February 12, 2015, beginning at 3:30pm in the Logistics Education Center Auditorium.

As part of Albany Tech's SASET program, Brennon Farmer and Brandon Johnson, both students at Westover High School, and Jonathan Banks and Dexter Hooks, both at Monroe High School, began their journey with the SASET Summer Robotics Enrichment Academy (SREA) in May of 2013. They were dually enrolled in SREA and ultimately, completed six hours of college credit.

During the SREA, the students were exposed to various industries with Engineering Technology. They visited a Robotics Competition in Atlanta with other high school students. Coaching and mentoring was provided by several Albany Tech instructors, including Chase Mumford (Electromechanical Engineering), Kevin White (Civil Engineering), Manual Hall (Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering), and Chinelo Ochie (Drafting).

These four students are on track to walk in Albany Tech's Spring Commencement ceremony on April 30th receiving their associate's degrees. This will mark the first time in history Albany Tech has had high school students graduate from high school and college with an associate's degree at the same time.
