March 5, 2009 – Albany Technical College’s Public Relations Department recently earned five awards, including two first place honors, in the 24th Annual Admissions Advertising Awards. The Admissions Advertising Awards, sponsored by the national magazine Admissions Marketing Report, is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country.

ATC earned the Gold award for its college newsletter in the technical, business or vocational college category and for a magazine advertising series for the “Be A Titan” advertising campaign.

The PR department also won a silver award for the 2008 Annual Report, a bronze award for the online virtual tour and an honorable mention for the college website. Since the website and virtual tour launched in August 2008, tens of thousands of people have visited the site and more than 5,000 have viewed the virtual tour!

This year, more than 2,000 entries were received from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all fifty states and several countries. Gold awards were granted to only 239 schools and silver awards were awarded to 210 schools.

Judges for the Admissions Advertising Awards consisted of a national panel of admissions’ marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of Admissions Marketing Report.

Admissions Marketing Report, a monthly publication, is in its twenty-fifth year and is read by thousands of admissions marketers at colleges and universities throughout the country. Recently the publication was renamed Higher Education Marketing Report to more appropriately reflect the expanding role of marketers at colleges and universities.
