Oct 15, 2009 (WALB) - About 45 vendors were at a career fair at Albany Technical College this morning where students and graduates got a chance to meet potential employers.
Garren Davis was dressed for success. He's a student right now, but wants to find a more permanent job.
"Those fairs are very important even though we are in a great recession," Judy Jimmerson of Albany Technical College. "Some employers are having to forego hiring, just putting it off until a later time, but it's still very important for them to come out and actually be able to get applicants of quality."
"What you might find might be a part time, temporary job," said Job Seeker Garren Davis. "It might be a career, so I'll just leave open, you never know what you might find, where it might lead you."
A tip to job seekers-- make sure you dress appropriately any time you are meeting with a potential employer. No T-shirts and flip flops, and take a copy of your resume.
