Albany Tech Foundation Receives Scholarship from Sabal Trail Transmission

November 2, 2016 - Albany, GA - The Albany Tech Foundation will be receiving a one-time educational scholarship of $50,000 from Sabal Trail Transmission, LLC. Andrea Grover, Director of Stakeholder Outreach with Sabal Trail, will present Albany Technical College President, Dr. Anthony Parker, and the Albany Tech Foundation with the check on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 3pm in the Presidential Suite in the Kirkland Administration Building.

The purpose of the project (or scholarship program) is to strengthen student portfolios by providing paid internship opportunities at science, technology, engineering, and mathematics based industries. This will allow Albany Tech students the opportunity to engage with employers and obtain hands-on, real-world experiences, leading to further growth and expansion of skilled technicians in the region. To be eligible, students must have 2.5 cumulative GPA, be recommended by their academic advisor, and have no more than two semesters remaining in their program.
