December 1, 2011 - Albany Technical College’s Adult Education Program will hosts its 19th Annual Exceptional Adult Georgians in Literacy Education (E.A.G.L.E.) Awards program on Friday, December 2, 2011, beginning at 10am in the Kirkland Conference Center on campus.

The E.A.G.L.E. Awards program is designed to honor and recognize adult students registered in Georgia’s literacy programs. Students are nominated to participate in the program by their instructors based on academic progress, attitude, attendance, character, perseverance and motivation.

During the Friday competition, students will compete on various levels. Once the winner is selected for Albany Tech, he or she will have the opportunity to compete at a Leadership Institute in Atlanta in February with all technical college winners from around the state in hopes to become the Literacy Ambassador for Georgia.

The Albany Tech Adult Education Program serves Baker, Calhoun, Clay, Dougherty, Lee, Randolph and Terrell Counties. Each county has a representative to serve students in those areas, which are part of Albany Tech’s Service Delivery Area (SDA).
