Albany Technical College Celebrates Exceptional Award Winners

Albany, Georgia – Albany Technical College (ATC) proudly announces the distinguished students and educators representing our college at the upcoming state-level competitions in 2024. After a rigorous campus-wide selection process, we have identified the winners for the prestigious Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (G.O.A.L.) student of the year, the Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year, the Adult Education (AE) Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) student of the year, the AE Teacher of the year, and an additional accolade unique to ATC—the Staff Employee of the Year.

Zavian Simpson

ATC G.O.A.L. Winner: Zavian Simpson, an Electronics Technology major known for his academic rigor and leadership qualities.

Tim Nelson

ATC Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year: Tim Nelson, a Business Management Instructor, is recognized for his innovative teaching methods and dedication to technical education excellence.

Malakai Jacobs

ATC E.A.G.L.E. Winner: Malakai Jacobs, a standout student in adult education, has demonstrated exceptional perseverance and academic achievement.

Patricia Pierce

ATC Adult Education Teacher of the Year: Patricia Pierce, an Adult Education instructor, is honored for her unwavering commitment to enhancing adult literacy and professional development.

ATC Staff Employee of the Year: Gloria Gladden, Admissions Assistant, is celebrated for her remarkable contributions to service excellence and innovation at Albany Tech. This is not a state-level competition but a local recognition at Albany Technical College.
