Women’s athletics coming to Albany Technical College

March 5, 2009 –Albany Technical College is fielding a women’s basketball team this fall, two years after the successful launch of men’s collegiate sports at the college. The Lady Titans will join the Georgia Junior College Athletic Association (GJCAA).


The GJCAA is comprised of 15 two year colleges and technical colleges. Albany Tech instructor, Kenneth Williams, will coach the Lady Titans. Try-outs will be held this Spring.



“Collegiate sports are now a vital part of student life at Albany Tech,” said ATC President Dr. Anthony Parker. “Our athletes excel on the basketball court and in the classroom and serve as role models for all our students. We look forward to the addition of the Lady Titans.”



ATC will be a member of Region 17 which includes: Andrew College, Georgia Perimeter College, Truett-McConnell College, South Georgia Technical College, Middle Georgia College, and Darton College.
