Quick Start Forms Partnership with Powersports Plus LLC for Job Creation Training plan for 50 new jobs signed in Albany

June 25, 2012 - Albany, GA - Powersports Plus LLC, one of the largest online suppliers of parts and accessories for marine and powersports enthusiasts, and Georgia Quick Start, the nation’s number-one workforce training organization, today formalized a partnership supporting 50 jobs the company is creating at a new distribution center in Albany.

Quick Start will be developing and implementing a training program customized to the company’s processes and technology, providing instruction for new employees in such areas as order fulfillment, inventory management, shipping, receiving, mobile equipment operation, customer service, and leadership. Albany Technical College, a third partner in the agreement, will be available to assist Powersports Plus with ongoing training programs.

“We’re honored to be helping Powersports Plus bring these good jobs to Georgians,” said Jackie Rohosky, Technical College System of Georgia assistant commissioner of economic development programs and head of Quick Start. “As Georgia’s global reputation for logistics continues to grow, we welcome this addition to Dougherty County’s $5.7 billion logistics industry.”

The new distribution center will serve the Powersports Plus showroom in Albany, as well as the company’s online storefront, PowersportsPlus.com.

“Albany Technical College is pleased and excited to be a part of the Powersports Plus project, and we look forward to working with the company through the Quick Start training program,” said Matt Trice, Albany Tech vice president of economic development. “We also look forward to working with Powersports Plus as they continue to grow in the community and pledge our resources as they have workforce training needs. We appreciate our partnership with the company, the Albany- Dougherty EDC and Georgia Quick Start.”
