April 29, 2008 - The Albany Tech Foundation held is fifth fundraising “Roast” on Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Joel Wernick, CEO of Phoebe Putney Health System, was this year’s Roastee. The Roast and silent auction raised around $9,000, which will be used for student scholarships and other foundation sponsored student programs.
Roasters Dr. John Culbreath, Dr. Anthony Parker, Dr. Bill George, Lem Griffin, Jeff “Bodine” Sinyard and Dr. Laurence Crimmins shared funny stories about Wernick. Sinyard even dressed up as Wernick’s barefoot and “rough-around-the-edges” twin brother from Arkansas, Doel Wernick, causing the crowd to erupt in laughter.
