Howell Named Albany Technical College’s New Public Relations Director

April 20, 2010 – Albany Technical College has named a new Director of Public Relations & Information for the College. Wendy Howell will officially begin her duties as the Director of Public Relations on Monday, April 26, 2010.

Howell has been employed in the Public Relations office at Albany Tech since September of 2006 as the in-house graphic designer. In addition to her graphic design duties, Howell has been acting as interim director of Public Relations since mid-February.

A native of Middle Georgia, Howell worked for several years out of college for The Telegraph in Macon as the advertising special sections writer and designer. Prior to relocating to Albany, Howell worked for almost six years with a public relations firm out of Alpharetta specializing in writing and designing corporate communications pieces for the firm’s Fortune 500 list of clients. She is also the owner of her own freelance graphic design firm, WH Design, where she designs freelance pieces on the side for select clients.

Howell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communications with a concentration in advertising and public relations from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville. Albany Technical College named Howell the 2009 Employee of the Year. She also serves as the advisory committee chairperson for the College’s Visual Communications program.
