
With an estimated $900 million deficit, Governor Perdue is asking for a little help from everyone. State employees are being asked to take three days without pay during the rest of the calendar year.
Some state employees we spoke with said they are aware furloughs may be necessary but say they have made no formal plans yet.
"Right now its just a waiting game to see what the governor orders and what our commissioner follow with his orders were not sure yet its really just wait and see at this point," said Katherine McPhail, employee at Albany Technical College.
In addition to furloughs, state agencies need to cut their budgets by five percent.
