SCHOLARSHIP
American Proteins Inc. recently donated a $6,500 scholarship to Albany Technical College. Cuthbert Division Manager Brandon Kyzar and Human Resources Manager Jimmy Rice presented Albany Tech President Anthony Parker with the scholarship money.
Forsyth County business and civic leader Tommy Bagwell and his wife, Chantal, established the Bagwell Family Scholarship Endowment to provide scholarships for students attending technical colleges located near their family business sites. American Proteins Inc. has multiple locations, including a Cuthbert site. Bagwell Scholarship recipients are chosen by their financial need, proximity to the company’s operation sites and the likelihood of their success.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Steve Eidson, instructor in the Economic Development Division at Albany Technical College, recently became one of eight Technical College System of Georgia professionals to earn Certified Economic Developer Trainer status during the fall quarter after completing a rigorous program of specialized training. Joining an elite group of more than 100 CEDTs statewide, Eidson plans to utilize the training to help Dougherty County attract new companies, while helping existing manufacturing and service industries develop a skilled work force.
