September 24, 2014- Albany, GA- On Thursday, September 25, 2014, from 9am-2pm, Albany Technical College will host the eighth annual Careers In Construction event in the College's Carlton Construction Academy.
Co-sponsored by the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia (CEFGA), Associated General Contractors of Georgia, Inc. (AGC, Georgia Branch), Pellicano Construction, MetroPower, Albany Elevator, Albany Heating and Air Conditioning, Georgia Power, ProBuild, Flint Equipment Company, Newell Construction, Short & Paulk Supply Company, LRA Constructors, Inc., James Unlimited General Construction, Artesian Contracting Company, Inc., Short & Paulk Supply Company, and Southwest Georgia AIA, the event is geared toward eighth through twelfth graders interested in pursuing a career in the construction and energy fields.
The Carlton Construction Academy at Albany Tech will host several vendors for the day who will provide various demonstrations where students can get a hands-on experience for each occupational area. Seven areas will be represented, including masonry, electrical, carpentry, welding, HVAC, Heavy Equipment and General Contracting.
