June 12, 2015- Albany, GA- Albany Technical will hold a "Move On When Ready" Parent Forum on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, beginning at 5:30pm in the Logistics Education Center Auditorium off South Slappey Boulevard.

The purpose of the forum is to inform parents and high school students who attend, of the recent changes to dual enrollment in the state of Georgia due to House Bill Two. The new "Move On When Ready" (MOWR) Dual Enrollment program combines the older Accel, HOPE Grant Dual Enrollment, and the previous MOWR Program, into one. The legislation was written to expand dual enrollment opportunities throughout the state of Georgia for high school students attending a public college, technical college, or university.

Through the new MOWR, high school students in the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade, deemed eligible by their high school, may enroll at the college as long as they meet the admissions requirements for the college. There is no cost and the time spent at the college will not count against the student's Georgia HOPE cap, as long as they are dually enrolled while in high school.

Tuesday evening's forum will allow parents and students to learn more about all the benefits through the new MOWR. Admissions and financial aid representatives will be on hand to answer any questions at the end of the evening.
