December 3, 2010 - Albany Technical College will celebrate 50 years of technical education in 2011. To kickoff the planned events for 2011, a Kickoff Celebration will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2011, at 11am, in the Kirkland Conference Center. Refreshments will be provided.

Albany Tech invites its faculty, staff, students, and community partners to join us for this prelude to a yearlong schedule of events. Upcoming events in 2011 include a dedication ceremony on January 13, 2011, for a police car, ambulance, and fire truck donated by Dougherty County, the City of Albany, and the City of Dawson. On February 18, 2011, at the Albany Municipal Auditorium, there will be an official convocation with guest speaker, Lt. General Willie Williams, Director, Marine Corps Staff and Chief of Staff to the Commandant of the Marine Corps.

Several other events will be held throughout the year to commemorate this commemorative milestone in Albany Tech history. In addition, a special section about the 50th is in the works with the Albany Herald to be published on February 13, 2011. ATC will provide additional details on events in January.
