November 18, 2013- Albany, GA- Albany Technical College will hold a special press conference on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, beginning at 10:30am in Room 134, first floor of the Center for Excellence in Technology Building off Lowe Road. The conference will recognize Albany Tech Design Media Production Technology student, Robyn Malone, for the 50th Anniversary seal she recently designed for the Junior League of Albany, Ga., Inc. (AJLI).
The seal was designed in collaboration with Kristi Baranko, a member in the Junior League, and also chairperson for the marketing management program at Albany Tech. It was officially revealed at the Junior League's October General Membership Meeting.
Malone, 26, began the Design Media Production Technology program at Albany Tech last fall. She is slated to graduate during Albany Tech's fall graduation on December 5, 2013 at the Albany Civic Center. This fall, she began her required internship under the supervision of her instructor in the program, Jill Mash, and has worked on numerous products for various clients, including an Albany Tech coloring book, the Worth a Taste Sylvester logo, and the Keep Randolph Beautiful logo.
"Robyn has been a dedicated intern and has had the opportunity to polish her design skills while interacting with clients," said Jill Mash, chairperson for the Design Media Production Technology program at Albany Tech.
Baranko said it was a pleasure to work with Robyn on the project. "She was very detailed in the initial design phase and gave us many options from which to choose," said Baranko.
Malone is overwhelmed that her design was chosen by the Junior League of Albany. "I feel honored that the Junior League trusted my abilities enough to allow me to design their 50th anniversary logo," said Malone. "I
know this logo means a lot to their organization and I am glad that I was able to give them what they were looking for."
The new logo will be used on all Junior League of Albany communications during the 2013-2014 year. Malone says that after she graduates, she hopes to become a graphic designer in the advertising industry.
