May 25, 2011- Today, several of Albany Technical College’s Business Administrative Technology program students gave a presentation on business imaging and what is required if you want to go into business for yourself. The presentation was a required project for the students for the end of the quarter.

An individual the students used as an example shared her hobby and passion of cake creations. Lydia Jones was a student in the Business Administrative Technology program at Albany Tech seven years ago and now enjoys designing unique cakes.

The students completed their PowerPoint presentation by stressing the importance of imaging your business, which includes having business cards, the appropriate letterhead and stationary. Students also stressed the importance of taking the Desktop Publishing classes in the Business Administrative Technology program and how it is a plus if you decide to become an entrepreneur.

Business Administrative Technology instructor, Theresa West, later reiterated to the class the importance of creating an image for yourself and how the students might want to explore the option of becoming a business owner.

“You may find yourself in a position where you might lose your job, so always keep your options open and explore something you enjoy and can find purpose and meaning in to sustain yourself,” said West.
